In 2001, East Lake Academy opened with 13 students and a handful of families. The school has now grown to more than 150 students and nearly 90 families strong.
More recently, the school has grown physically with the purchase of the middle school building. It will continue to grow this year by expanding the size of the current gym. The gym will expand by about 40 percent, allowing room for spectator seating, plus space for theatrical performances and all school events. This expansion will be complete in time for the next school year.
“The mission of the school remains unchanged,” John Calk, president and founder of the academy, said. “We form the future leaders of our society by forming the spirit and the body of each and every student in academics, character, faith and apostolic formation.”
