Class registration

The incoming LFHS Class of 2017 registration “Core Course Level Change Request Consultations/Adjustments,” meeting for the 2013-14 school year will be held 5-6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the Library, LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Rd., Lake Forest. Registration for classes 2014/15/16 will occur during students’ English class periods according to the following schedule: Juniors (Class of 2014) – Feb. 11-20, Sophomores (Class of 2015) – Feb. 22-27, Freshmen (Class of 2016) – March 1-6. The 2013-14 registration process should be completed by March 8 with a confirmation of the registration mailed home in mid-March. More information can be found at www.lfhs.org.

Spirit week

The LFHS Student Athlete Leadership Team “Spirit Week” is scheduled for the second week in February. On Feb. 8 the daily class schedule will be shortened to include a Pep Rally from 2:10-3:10 p.m. The theme for the week is “CLASH of the CLASSES.” The four graduating classes will be competing for the “Spirit Jug” that will be awarded to the class that displays the most spirit throughout the week and at the Pep Rally. Students will have several ways to earn spirit points for their class, including dressing up on “Dress Up” days, by contributing to “Clash for Cash” (penny wars) to raise money for Camp Hope, and by purchasing raffle tickets for a chance to be selected to compete in the Pep Rally games. Students will sit with their respective graduating classes. At random times during the assembly, points will be given to the class showing the most spirit.

Snow Ball dance

The LFHS Winter Turnabout Dance, “The Snow Ball,” will be held from 7:30 -10:30 p.m. Feb. 9. There will be a dessert reception in the Commons followed by a dance in the Competition Gym at LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Road, Lake Forest.

Music Competition

The LFHS Music Department Honors Competition will be held at 3 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the Raymond Moore Auditorium at LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Road, Lake Forest.

Important Dates:

• Regular meeting of the Board of Education of Lake Forest Community High School District 115, Lake County, Ill., at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at 7 p.m., Board Room, LFHS West Campus, 300 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest.

• Music Department Jazz Festival at 7 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Raymond Moore Auditorium at LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Road, Lake Forest.

•There will be no school for LFHS student on Feb. 15 due to a Teacher Institute Day.
