Second grade coffee
Current and prospective parents are invited to a “Stepping Up to Second Grade” coffee, scheduled at 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the LFCDS Parent Relations Office. The coffee will address the second-grade experience at LFCDS, including what parents can expect in terms of curriculum and social development as well as the highlights of the second-grade year. Additional coffees are also scheduled for third grade (March 13 at 8:15 a.m.) and fourth grade (Feb. 20 at 8:15 a.m.). Talent show
The annual Lake Forest Country Day School Talent Show will take place at 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the School’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). The show is an opportunity for LFCDS students of all ages to perform a variety of creative talent, such as vocal music, theater, appropriate dance, athletics, comedy, speech, poetry and more.
Music students compete
Lake Forest Country Day School is bringing the largest group of students in recent history to Deerpath Middle School on Feb. 9, where they will perform in the 2013 Illinois Grade School Music Association’s Solo & Ensemble Contest. This annual contest provides music students an opportunity to perform for a judge and receive feedback from professional musicians and includes woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, string and vocal events.
Open house slated
The public is invited to attend an Admissions Open House at 9 a.m. on Feb. 12 in the School’s Green Bay Atrium. The Open House is open to prospective families with children age 2 through eighth-grade, and allows for an opportunity to tour the LFCDS campus, speak with teachers and students, observe classes in session, and spend time with families from the Lake Forest Country Day School community. RSVPs are preferred for the Open House, and can be made by contacting the Enrollment office at (847) 615-6151 or admission@lfcds.org.
