Author visits school
East Lake Academy hosted renowned motivational speaker and author Pete Mockaitis who spoke with ELA middle school students during Catholic Schools Week. Mockaitis has authored two books about effective leadership, “Team Up — Becoming Accountable to Your Dreams” and “The Student Leader’s Field Guide.”
The theme of this year’s Catholic Schools Week was “Raise the Standards.” Mockaitis explained how goal-setting and being accountable for the progress you make on those goals allows you to raise your own standards. ELA students were able to ask questions during the presentation. Questions included: “Which books inspired you to be an author,” “Who is your favorite saint” and “Which virtue is your favorite virtue to put into practice?”
