Book drive
The District 67 APT Book Drive will take place on Feb. 1-15. Last year, District 67 APT in association with Bernie’s Book Bank collected more than 20,000 books from District 67 families. Those books were given to Bernie’s Book Bank where they were distributed to at-risk children in the Chicagoland area. Please encourage your children to bring their gently used children’s books to school and place them in the collection boxes in their classrooms.
Science night
Cherokee School’s Family Science Night will be held 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the school. All current Cherokee students, grades K-4, are invited to participate with a parent or adult to design a marble timing device to be completed at Family Science Night. Bring all the materials you will use in your device, and try to make a machine that will keep your marble timing device in motion for as close to 15 seconds as possible.
