School Band concert
The Winter Band Concert is set for Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the School’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). The concert includes performances by four separate bands – the fifth-grade beginning band, the sixth-grade concert band, the seventh- and eighth-grade symphonic band, and the jazz band, which includes students from sixth- through eighth-grades. The concert is free to attend and open to the public.
Holiday activity
On Dec. 7 students in first through eighth grade will enjoy holiday cookies and exchange cards with their buddies at the second house event of the school year. The houses link Upper and Lower School grades together by pairing each Upper School student with a Lower School buddy within the houses. The houses also involve every faculty and staff member. This event is one of several throughout the year, which help build community across grade levels.
Season of giving
Funds raised for LFCDS’ “Trick or Treat for UNICEF” have been tallied, and the School raised $1,822.84 for the program. In addition, a group of seventh-grade students (and their siblings) delivered a large donation of food and other needed items to the C.O.O.L. Pantry in Waukegan. Students brought in items to the all-School Thanksgiving Assembly Nov. 20, which was part of a seventh-grade service learning project.~.
