A Mundelein man whose name was removed from the March 20, 2012 primary ballot will run as a write-in candidate in Illinois’ 30th District House race.
Gregory S. Jacobs was removed from the ballot after a successful challenge his nominating petitions earlier this month. Jacobs filed to run as a write-in candidate on Jan. 19, according to the Lake County Clerk’s Office.
Jacobs will face Don Castella of Lincolnshire, who is the only Republican candidate whose name will appear on the ballot in March. The winner will face incumbent State Sen. Terry Link, D-30th, of Waukegan.
Meanwhile, two candidates for Lake County Board withdrew their candidacies last week.
Jay Krasne of Gurnee announced he was withdrawing his candidacy for County Board District 13 in the March Republican primary. Krasne said in a press release he was endorsing Rick Lesser of Lake Bluff in the race. Lesser will face David Barkhausen of Lake Bluff in the Republican primary. Three Democrats, Robert S. Glueckert of Grayslake, Sandra Hart of Lake Bluff and Anthony Soler of Waukegan, are also running for the board seat.
David Pfeifer of Waukegan also withdrew as a Republican candidate for County Board in District 2.
