Lake Forest and Lake Bluff Police Blotter for Aug. 20

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Lake Forest
DUI
Stacey Niebuhr, 53, 1009 W. Jenkisson, Lake Bluff was stopped for violating a railroad gate at Westminster and Western at 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 10 when she was found to be under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs and alcohol, police reports indicate. Niebuhr failed field sobriety tests. She was taken to Northwestern Lake Forest hospital, released and subsequently transported to Lake County Jail for disobeying a railroad gate, a felony charge of driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured vehicle and a felony charge of DUI, DUI drugs or combination. She was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17. No further information was available.
Sheila Chenery Dennett, 26, 1012 Talbot Ave., Lake Bluff was reported in a disabled vehicle at Route 41 and Westleigh at 9:26 p.m. on Aug. 12. The subject admitted to drinking alcohol, according to police repors. Dennett failed field sobriety tests and submitted a breath sample that indicated a blood alcohol concentration. She was charged with DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .08. Dennett was released on $100 and her Illinois driver’s license pending her appearance in Lake County Court on Sept. 25.
Lake Bluff
THEFT
Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 11, someone entered a car parked in a garage in the 12000 block of Sanctuary Lane and took a Coach purse and its contents as well as a black satchel and its contents. Items stolen included ATM and credit cards, cash and an antique sterling engraved and hallmarked card case. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at $1,800. The resident said her overhead garage door was closed on the night of Aug. 10 but found open on the morning of Aug. 11. ~.
