LAKE BLUFF — The Friends of Lake Bluff Parks launched a new interactive web site at www.friendsofLBparks.org that features an opportunity for visitors to share stories and photos about their park experiences.
In addition, visitors to the new web site will learn about the needs of the Lake Bluff Park District and have an opportunity to donate directly to support those needs as well as interact with the community about their experiences with the parks. Visitors can make donations specifically to cover the costs of purchasing new equipment or making facility improvements in addition to making general donations to support the district.
The website also highlights the Friends’ new marketing campaign, “Where the kid in you lives.”
“Our group is excited to invite the Lake Bluff park community to become more involved in life in the parks. We can help sustain the park system and bring everyone together with our stewardship of these important community assets,” Peter Arnstein, president of the Friends Board of Directors said in a press release issued Jan. 14.
“The Park Board is thrilled about the new partnership with the Friends of Lake Bluff Parks,” Kevin Considine, president of the Lake Bluff Park District Board, said in the same press release. “Working with the Friends is a smart way to bring our community better facilities and services. We sincerely appreciate their dedication and hard work.”
Friends of Lake Bluff Parks was formed in November 2005 as part of a long-term strategy to ensure funding for capital projects and improvements of the Lake Bluff Park District through private donations. Friends of Lake Bluff Parks is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
