Lake Bluff, Lake Forest Veterans Day ceremonies planned
Annual Veterans Day ceremonies are planned in both Lake Bluff and Lake Forest.
Lake Bluff American Legion Post 510 will conduct its ceremony at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Gazebo on the Village Green in downtown Lake Bluff.
Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served in the Community Room at the Public Safety Building, 45 E. Center Ave., Lake Bluff.
The Lake Forest American Legion is hosting a ceremony to commemorate from 10:45-11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, in the Raymond Moore Auditorium at Lake Forest High School,1285 N. McKinley Road. The ceremony will start promptly and school is in session. Parking is available in the school lot.
In lieu of a guest speaker, the Lake Forest ceremony will hold a question-and-answer period on such issues as the draft, the American Legion and how to apply for admission to a military academy.
Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11. Monday, Nov. 12, is a federal holiday.
