LAKE FOREST — Lake Forest Academy has entered the public phase of its first-ever fund-raising campaign, it was announced during Reunion Weekend 2012 on Sept. 29.
The campaign already has raised $50 million in gifts and pledges. In the public phase, campaign organizers hope to raise an additional $10 million.
Begun in 2005, the campaign has funded an increase in the school’s endowment, an upgrade and expansion of faculty housing and athletic facilities, renovation of existing academic space, construction of a new girls’ dormitory and ground breaking of a state-of-the-art science center.
In the next phase of the campaign, LFA hopes to complete construction of the freestanding science center, which is set to open in August 2013, and make improvements to existing space in the Corbin Academic Center. The public portion of the campaign will run through June 2014.
Gifts to the LFA campaign can be directed toward a building project or can be placed in the school’s endowment fund.
Lake Forest Academy is an independent, coed boarding and day school for students in grades nine through 12.
