VERNON HILLS — Since opening its doors in November 2008, Jason’s Deli of Vernon Hills has been serving up tasty fare with a smile, but don’t be fooled by the name.
Jason’s Deli is a deli style restaurant with fare that goes beyond what “deli” evokes, including soups, salads, wraps, hot pastas, hot and cold sandwiches, baked potatoes and nine different Kids meals. Those with a more creative palate can build their own sandwich.
The friendly staff includes nearly 30 employees.
“We bring in fresh produce daily, slice our meats and cheeses by hand and everything is made to order,” said Jason’s Deli Regional Sales Director Alexandra Moore. “Many of our staff and managers at the Vernon Hills location have been there since it opened, and you will receive some of the best customer service in our company at this store.”
Plato and Jill Dimakos of Lake Forest are big fans of the food and staff at the Vernon Hills location.
“We are very picky when it comes to feeding our family, and we do not eat at fast food establishments,” said Plato Dimakos. “Jason’s Deli has consistently provided us with the highest quality of food and great value for our money. It’s the only restaurant that the whole family agrees to eat at all the time, and we thank them for making our lives easier.”
The Vernon Hills location serves on average 3,000 meals a week between their dine-in and catering customers. Some of the more popular menu items are giant Reuben and Yankee sandwiches featuring corned beef and pastrami, and their Famous Muffaletta offers authentic New Orleans flair. Customers also can indulge in the 20-foot all you can eat salad bar.
Jason’s Deli in Vernon Hills is a member of the GLMV Chamber of Commerce and makes it a point to give back to the community. On Sept. 10, a fundraiser was held for the Mundelein High School Boys Track and Field and on Sept. 12, 15 percent of all customers’ dinner bills was donated to Stevenson High School’s Band and Color Guard.
“Being a part of the community is important to Jason’s Deli, and fundraising is just one of the aspects we utilize to stay involved in the community,” said Moore.
General Manager Neill Pettinga credits the location’s continued success to his dedicated staff.
“It starts with the people who I am blessed to work with,” said Pettinga. “They are the bread and butter of everything we do. Our expectation is to give our guests complete hospitality, not just service.”
Menus for both dine-in and catering are available at www.jasonsdeli.com. Delivery is available for this location as well as online ordering, which comes with a 4 percent cash-back bonus. Most importantly to some, Jason’s Deli offers free ice cream to all dine-in guests.
“Many customers treat themselves to it as an appetizer,” said Pettinga.
