District 67 APT has partnered with Bernie’s Book Bank in Lake Forest to sponsor a book drive from Feb. 1-15.

The goal of the APT Book Drive is to collect 10,000 books for at-risk children in Chicagoland. Not only will the book drive connect more children needing books with more books needing children, but it will also create a positive experience for District 67 students. LB mulls turbines, solar regulations

The Lake Bluff Zoning Board of Appeals is considering recommending to the village board changes to village code addressing potential use of wind turbines in the village and expected growth in use of solar panels.

The ZBA commissioners are considering recommending that the village prohibit horizontally mounted wind turbines and allow only vertically mounted turbines on buildings in the industrial areas where there will be no shadow flicker on homes or schools.

The commission also discussed limiting shadow flicker, the strobe light affect caused by an operating wind turbine, where it is allowed to one hour a day. They’re also considering recommending to the village board a limit of one turbine per building.
