The Lake Forest City Council will not consider an ordinance regarding the use of the Barat property by Woodlands Academy at its meeting Tuesday night as planned, city officials announced this morning.
Mayor James Cowhey and three of the eight aldermen will be absent from tonight’s regular City Council meeting. In addition, Woodlands representatives and City of Lake Forest staff and attorney are still working to refine legal documentation related to the Special Use Permit for Woodlands Academy to allow expansion of the school’s campus to incorporate the 23-acre Barat parcel.
“Due to the importance of this matter, we felt it was prudent to move this discussion to a time when the Council will be in full attendance,” City Manager Bob Kiely said.
Instead, the agenda item will be tabled at tonight’s meeting and rescheduled for the next Lake Forest City Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 at City Hall, 220 E. Deerpath, Lake Forest.
