Boutiques

Residents who enjoy decorating their homes await the annual Holiday Boutique at Mariani Landscape (www.marianilandscape.com). This year’s public event, showcasing a wide variety of decorating ideas, materials and accessories for sale, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25 - Dec. 18 at the company’s headquarters, 300 Rockland Rd., Lake Bluff.

The Lake Bluff Women’s Club will hold its annual Christmas Boutique and Luncheon at 11 a.m., Dec. 13 in the Grace United Methodist Church, 244 East Center Avenue, Lake Bluff. The boutique will offer a bake sale of home-baked cookies, coffee cakes, breads and cookies along with holiday decorations. A catered lunch by Kenny’s of Lake Bluff will be served at noon. A holiday musical program will feature the Women of Note performing their “Traditional Holiday Program.” Membership is open to all women no matter of geographic location. SpeakUp! Prevention Coalition is launching its third annual Parents Who Host Lose the Most campaign to remind parents and community members that it is illegal to provide or knowingly allow underage youth to consume alcohol or other drugs. Signs are being posted around Lake Forest and Lake Bluff to remind parents and the community to work together to keep youth safe from alcohol and drug use. Fundraisers

In the spirit of its production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Citadel Theatre is collecting canned food and warm clothing at the theatre for distribution to the needy by the Holy Family Food Pantry of Waukegan. New ticket buyers for performances of the holiday classic will get a $5 discount off the general admission price, if they bring an item of warm clothing or two cans or boxes of non-perishable food on performance dates between Nov. 25-Dec. 23. (A Christmas Carol continues through Dec. 30, with no performances Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.)
