1. Summer Sounds at the Glen features cover band Soda from 5-9 p.m. July 31 at The Glen Town Center’s Navy Park, 2671 Navy Blvd., Glenview. 2. “Gogh Green!” recycled (pre-owned) art sale special opening evening, 6-9 p.m. July 27 at The Art Center Highland Park, 1957 Sheridan Road, Highland Park. The evening features live and silent auctions of select works, and the first chance to purchase pieces of donated art. $50 admission in advance; $65 at the door. The sale includes thousands of paintings, prints, 2D and 3D art, jewelry and decorative objects, as well as a donation of more than 400 pieces from the corporate collection of Baxter International and a significant collection of early American wood furnishings donated by the University of Chicago.
