Presbyterian Homes recently named Mark Havrilka chief financial officer. Havrilka has more than 20 years experience in financial leadership for continuing care retirement communities.

Prior to joining Presbyterian Homes, Havrilka was vice president of finance at Presbyterian Communities and Services, a multi-site continuing care retirement community and hospice organization in Dallas, Texas. He joined Presbyterian Communities and Services in 2008 and provided leadership in the areas of finance, information technology, strategic planning and operations as well as board and resident relations. Through his leadership at PC&S, the organization made vast improvements in the areas of revenue enhancement, cost containment, financial reporting, budgeting, management tools development and creating policies, procedures and standards.

Havrilka began his career at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield in 1985. In 1988, he joined Christian Homes Inc. in Lincoln, where he took on progressively greater responsibilities and was named chief financial officer in 1999. He joined Illinois Masonic Home in Sullivan in 2004 as controller and chief financial officer. He remained there until 2008, when he accepted the vice president of finance position with PC&S.

Havrilka obtained a bachelor of arts in accounting from the University of Illinois – Springfield. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Illinois CPA Society. Havrilka recently relocated from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and lives in Lake Forest. He and his wife have two children.
