Moms, imagine spending two hours with your son doing things that you both enjoy. That’s the plan for the Mom & Son Campfire Cookout, 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 at Adler Lodge, 1500 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.

“This is a great night for moms to have some fun one-on-one time with their sons,” said Julie Ludwig, Recreation Manager for the Village of Libertyville.

There will be activities to keep everyone entertained and well-fed.

“Moms and sons will play a few relay games, including the infamous egg toss, then gather around the campfire to cook hotdogs, tell campfire stories and make s’mores,” Ludwig said. “Our final adventure is to take a walk around Adler Park with flashlights at dusk.”

The cost is $25 per couple; $7 per additional child.

Ludwig reported that the Village of Libertyville runs this event because, “It’s a great way for moms and sons to have a night out together.”
