Catalytic converters stolen from 3 cars at Lake Forest Hospital

Catalytic converters were stolen from three cars parked in the Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital parking lot during the afternoon on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

A man parked a four-door tan sedan adjacent to the burgled cars and was observed walking around the vehicles. The suspect was wearing dark pants and a dark shirt or jacket.

The three cars were parked together at the hospital, located at 660 N. Westmoreland Road.

Lake Forest Police Deputy Chief Karl Walldorf said the three catalytic converters, valued at more than $500, are often sold for scrap.

“It’s a big, public parking lot and people come in and out all day,” Walldorf said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Wendy Dumont at DumontW@cityoflakeforest.com.
