Lake Forest High School welcomes 436 freshmen, 53 transfer students

The first day of classes on Monday ran smoothly at Lake Forest High School, with 1,692 students enrolled for the 2014-15 academic year.

The sophomore class, which is 439 students strong, has the largest representation on campus. This year’s freshman class of Scouts is a close runner-up with 436 students.

In third place is the junior class with 430, while the senior class trails with an enrollment of 387 students, giving it the smallest on-campus presence.

This year Lake Forest High School also welcomed 53 transfer students.

Monday was a full day of school for all students, though freshmen attended Freshmen Orientation Day on Friday and participated in the “clap-in” to welcome members of the class of 2019 to the school. A video of the tradition is available on the school’s website, www.lakeforestschools.org.

Lake Forest High School, located at 1285 N. McKinley Road, was established in 1935.
