Police Blotter: Teen walking shoeless on Deerpath cited for underage drinking

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

LAKE FOREST

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR

Elayna Svigos, 19, 1275 N. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, was observed walking on Deerpath at Route 41 with no shoes on at 3:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, police said. When questioned, she admitted to drinking and was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor. She is scheduled to appear at the city’s administrative hearing on Sept. 10.

THEFT

A 14-year-old boy from Lake Forest was taken into custody when he was found at 5:12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, in the 800 block of South Waukegan Road with a bike stolen in Lake Forest on Sunday, Aug. 10, police said. He was released to a parent and is scheduled to appear at the city’s administrative hearing on Sept. 10.

LAKE BLUFF

THEFT

Landscaping equipment valued at $1,000 was stolen from a padlocked storage trailer at Mariani Landscape, 300 Rockland Road, sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, and 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10. The items stolen include assorted hand tools, a roto-tiller and three backpack leaf blowers. The padlocks were removed and found on the ground.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Someone spray-painted the goal posts and fencing at Blair Park, 355 W. Washington Ave., with pink and purple spray paint, police were notified on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Police believe the incident occurred overnight and said it caused $200 in damage. The goal posts and fencing were spray painted again, with purple and light blue paint, causing another $200 in damage, police were notified on Friday, Aug. 15.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

Someone broke the front passenger window on a car parked in the train station parking lot and stole a credit card, miscellaneous papers, a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, a Bluetooth speaker and a Garmin for a total loss valued at $500. The burglary occurred between 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR

Pierson Dapier, 20, 620 Surf Ave., Chicago, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor when he attempted to enter a home in the 300 block of East Sheridan Place at 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 7.
