Lake Bluff seeks retailer, service business for train station vacancy

Time is running out for a retailer or service business owner who wants to open up a shop a 120-square-foot storefront space at the Lake Bluff Train Station, 600 N. Sheridan Road.

Proposals are due by 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.

Former tenant Cacao Sweets & Treats closed in July. The vendor had a one-year lease for the space, where it sold coffee and other beverages, pastries, fruit, prepackaged food items and periodicals.

Cacao replaced LuLu’s Frozen Delights, which operated a similar stand at the southernmost portion of the station, from February through June 2013.

The Lake Bluff station has 51 scheduled train stops on weekdays, 26 stops on Saturdays and 18 on Sundays.

The village will accept only sealed, written proposals. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.

For complete information on how to submit a proposal, go to www.lakebluff.org.
