Police: Teens cited for underage drinking, adult for social hosting

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

LAKE FOREST

MINOR ALCOHOL, SOCIAL HOSTING

Police responded to a 911 call of an unknown subject attempting to enter the caller’s home at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 5. Upon arrival, officers located Amadeus Kozera, 18, of 40 S. Maywood Road, Lake Forest, on the caller’s rear patio, police said. According to the police report, Kozera was intoxicated, believed some of his possessions were in the caller’s house and was unaware he was at the wrong house. Kozera was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor. While checking the same street, police found Daniel Sullivan, 18, 102 W. Washington Ave., Lake Bluff, lying in the road intoxicated, police said. Sullivan was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and later cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor. Officers found several other minors drinking alcohol in the yard of Stephen Cirame, 49, of 1521 Big Oaks Court, Lake Forest. Police confiscated the alcohol and charged Cirame, the homeowner, with social hosting. Kozera, Sullivan and Cirame are scheduled to appear at the city’s administrative hearing on Aug. 13.

FELONY RETAIL THEFT

Patience Cedzidlo, 29, of 41 Treehouse Lane, Round Lake, was charged with a felony count of retail theft for taking six bottles of vodka and tequila from a store in the 800 block of North Western Avenue without paying at 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, police said. She was scheduled to appear in court on July 24.

RETAIL THEFT

Ryan Douglass, 36, of 151 E. Laurel Ave., Lake Forest, was charged with retail theft when he was found to have taken a bottle of vodka from a store in the 800 block of North Western Avenue without paying at 9:05 p.m. Monday, July 14, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.

DUI

Dean Feley, 20, of 334 Park Lane, Lake Bluff, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign following a traffic stop on Sheridan Road at Westminster Avenue at 12:04 a.m. on Saturday, June 28. He was scheduled to appear in court on July 25.

REVOKED, WARRANT

Sergio Dubon, 28, 18460 W. Woodland Terrace, Gurnee, was charged with driving while license revoked and taken in on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on a 2010 arrest for criminal damage to property following a traffic stop for not having a rear taillight at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, on Route 60 at Waukegan Road. Dubon is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 18.

LAKE BLUFF

VANDALISM

Someone put a 24-inch long scratch in the side of a 2009 Acura while it was parked in a lot in the 900 block of North Shore Drive sometime between 7 and 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, police were notified the following day.

THEFT

Two leaf blowers and a gas-powered weed-wacker were stolen from an unlocked trailer in the 900 block of Sherwood Drive. Police believe the items were stolen by two individuals driving a silver or white pick-up truck between 2 and 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.

Two lawn ornaments valued at $35 were stolen from the front yard of a home in the 100 block of Ravine Avenue sometime overnight, police were notified at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16. Missing are a 2-foot by 3-foot plywood ornament depicting the backside of a female wearing a red skirt with polka dots and a 2-foot by 2-foot Styrofoam “no poop zone” ornament.
