LAS VEGAS

Authorities have identified a 31-year-old gunman who fatally wounded a concierge desk worker and killed himself at a Las Vegas Strip casino hotel as Edward C. Brandt of Lake Forest.

The Clark County coroner said Monday that 30-year-old Jessica Corinne Kenny of Las Vegas was shot more than once and died at a hospital shortly after the Friday evening shooting at the Excalibur resort.

Brandt killed himself with a gunshot to the head.

Kenny was a vendor at the hotel for the travel website VEGAS.com.

A spokeswoman says Kenny’s family isn’t making public statements.

Police say Brandt and Kenny might have dated in the past, but that a motive for the murder-suicide wasn’t immediately clear.

The Brandt family could not be reached for comment.~.
