LAKE FOREST — The Lake Forest Caucus Committee announced seven new candidates for the Lake Forest Elementary District 67 and Lake Forest High School District 115 school boards following its annual meeting Nov. 27.
Caucus-endorsed candidates for District 67 are Robert Lemke, Ward 1; Mike Borkowski and Beth Clemmensen, both of Ward 2; and Jeff Folker, Ward 4. There will be four open positions on the District 67 School Board.
For District 115, the caucus slated John Powers, Ward 2; Steve Reimer, Ward 4; and Dave Schreiber, Ward 3. Current board member Todd Burgener of Lake Bluff was endorsed by the Lake Bluff School Caucus and will be listed on the ballot. There will be four open positions on the District 115 School Board.
The annual meeting, scheduled since August 2012 at Lake Forest Country Day School, drew the 42 publicly elected caucus members. The Nov. 27 meeting was originally set for Nov. 13 but was rescheduled due to the Lake Forest High School teacher’s strike.
A School Board Search Committee identified or was approached by more than 150 Lake Forest residents to consider serving on one of two school boards. In the end, 25 residents submitted detailed applications. The committee selected 21 for its initial round of interviews.
